I really like the second image. The lighting on his coat really shows off the material qualities of the clothes, and his pose is expressive and engaging. However, one thing that really bugs me is that his left elbow is cut off.
I really like these the second one is really good, I'm usually not a fan of patterned backgrounds bit you made it look great! I think the first one would look great if the background was lit up some more, her shadow is a little distracting
